There have been unsubstantiated rumours circulating about changes at the Club in recent days and we are pleased to clarify the position for Members.

Announcement from Kendal RUFC
After much consideration Steve Whitehead is to leave his post at Kendal RUFC by mutual agreement. During his 5 years with the Club Steve played a major role as Project Manager in the complex negotiation, design and delivery of our new Mint Bridge facility, recently granted a Civic Society Award.
He has also been instrumental in developing our facility’s reputation as a first-class venue capable of hosting a variety of large-scale events outside of rugby, most notable of which have been our Kendal Town Fireworks Display, (Sky’s Alight) and Rock on Kendal head lining Status Quo.
The Board believes that the Club needs to restructure its operation to cope with the tough challenges presented by running such an important community resource. The Board wishes to thank Steve who has worked openly and tirelessly to develop our Club and we are grateful for his outstanding commitment. We are all agreed that there is now a time for a different direction and both the Board and Steve part on very amicable terms and we wish him well for the future.
Steve also holds the title of Director of Rugby at Kendal RUFC, although this is a voluntary post, it is a most important one and he will continue to support the Club’s coaches, players and Board in his role until the end of the season.
