Kendal Rugby Club coaches have run two successful Pitch up and Play events involving 120 students.

On the 12th and 19th October pupils from years 7, 8, 9 and 10 enjoyed an afternoon of rugby when qualified coaches from Kendal RUFC came into Queen Katherine to host two pitch up and play events. Pitch up and play is aimed at both non rugby players and experienced rugby players, aiming to provide a fun, all inclusive experience for students. In total 120 pupils experienced knowledgeable, insightful and fun coaching over a variety of stations whilst working on many different skills and disciplines rugby has to offer such as special awareness, tackling, passing and rucking. With so many pupils participating and having fun, a great atmosphere was clear with many talented players furthering the momentum for sport at Queen Katherine so far this year. This momentum will only be strengthened through the major move and redevelopment of Kendal rugby club. This combined with a close relationship with Queen Katherine School we hope will lead to an enthusiasm for sport and the recruitment of the young rugby players of the future.
