Kendal Rugby Union Football Club cordially invites you and your club to take part in this year’s Sport Relief Challenge to help create the 'Big Step from Kendal', based at the Rugby club on Friday 23 March, between 5pm and 7.30pm.

BBC North West is covering the event from the 20th, with a live interview in advance and some footage on the day.

We are going to be using the step theme set by this year’s Sport Relief on the afternoon of the 23rd and have invited local schools to 'step out' on the pitch with us. We will set-up a path around the pitch that will maximise the number of steps the young people and teachers walk and we will encourage them to use the Sports Relief App where possible, or step counters which we can add to the total for steps from Kendal.

From 5pm we are inviting our community to come along and step into the shoes of local sporting groups and try out their sport.

The more groups that can come and share their skills the better!

We aim to fundraise by selling a card, on which they will earn a stamp, when people have taken part in each individual sport. When they have completed the card, they can enter it into a draw for an active family fun prize!

At 7pm we will get as many people as possible onto the pitch and do a giant step out from Kendal. The more members of your club that can make it to this, the better for our BIG STEP challenge.

And one for the adults later in the evening … ‘Step onto the dance floor’ to finish off the event. Tickets are £10 and include hot snacks starting from 7.30pm
