Steve Whitehead was wholehearted in his immediate comments to the players at the final whistle on Friday evening. He thought that the players put in a fantastic performance, especially the young lads who all put in an appearance, some of them for the first time.
He then formed a group of the first timers and said again how pleased he was!

On Saturday afternoon, the coaches' reactions were similar when the Development XV had a comfortable win against a Furness at Barrow.
The Black & Ambers were thrashed at the end of last season against a table winning Furness, but this time a fit Kendal scored six tries against the blues, and were well on top in the last half hour.
Arthur Pirie, and new coach Steve Wigglesworth, were very pleased with the improved Development squad.
The lads who stood out were a blistering, tackling Alistair Thompson, a rampaging Josh Chaplow, Rob Collinson with his second game in less than 24 hours, and a rare appearance from Will Voke, whether in his normal position of scrum half, or at flanker.
