Unlike next week's vote, there was probably little doubt over this Winner, with eight individual wins throughout the season.

After a fairly quiet (by his standards) return to Black & Amber colours last season, from the opening warm up game against Aspatria, it was clear that the old James was back - as many an opposition scrum half and back row has found out to their cost.

Leading from the front, tries were poached out of nothing on the two opening wins against Birkenhead Park and Wilmslow, and the returning to the field on one leg to inspire his team to victory at Penrith.

The trade mark quick tap penalty, has kept opposition defences (and some of his own team) on their toes, even on the rare occasion when the team has not been at it's best.

The only black cloud on the horizon is if his new son has half his energy, he may be having some sleepless nights himself.

Runner Up : Ben Leacock, excellent in a much improved line out and increasingly a presence about the field

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to submit a vote this season. It is a bit of an odd concept, as if you were at the match you don’t really need to read the report, whilst if you weren’t there it is difficult to vote.

Have a good relaxed Summer. The August pre-season warm up games, like the cold wet windy Winter weather, will be back before we know it, so enjoy the sunshine whilst you can.

Thanks

Mark
