With a number of players unavailable or out with injuries, it was probably far from the team which will line up against Birkenhead Park in three weeks time for the first League game of the season, but none of those who came in will have done their prospects of making the team at some point this season any harm, and some positions, especially in the back row, could have some fierce competition.

The opening exchanges saw both teams on the attack, but after Kendal got the opening score after quarter of an hour, they dominated most of the rest of the half, but only held a 12v19 halftime lead

This narrowed to 17v19 early in the second half, but Kendal then pulled away to win 22v43.

James Gough, Richard Harryman, and Tom Voke, all stood out in the first half before all being replaced, whilst Dan Lowther was prominent in attack and defence throughout the game, and half time substitute at scrum half, Matty Kaye played well.
