Great venue, good games, fantastic day out!

An exceptional day of rugby was enjoyed by everyone at the very well organised Falcons Festival. The best way to sum it up would be to say the Hornets really encapsulated the RFU's Core Values (TREDS); Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Safety. All of the players really got stuck in showing good Teamwork, supporting each other in every game which resulted in some excellent tries that were shared out across the whole of the squad. All of the games were played in good spirit and although it was obvious we have players who really want to win, decisions were always Respected and there was good appreciation of the opposition players. It was obvious to everyone there just how much Enjoyment the kids got out of the games they played and the whole day in general, and this was also the case for the coaching and management team, no doubt helped by the Disciplined behaviour of the squad from start to finish. Then thanks must also go to all of the Falcons staff for putting on yet another superb and Safe festival of rugby (although one of our players did challenge this safety, by kicking a ball into an unsuspecting ITV cameraman - thankfully the TV presenters saw the funny side). The end result was 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 narrow defeat, however the true measure must be the quality of rugby on show from our young players, with some outstanding tries scored and very very few errors. Exceptionally well done to everyone involved and for making the effort to get up to Newcastle. Let's look forward to more of the same when we have our full squad together again at Preston next week.
