And so another league season reaches its conclusion, with the Wasps playing host to a resurgent Manchester team in a rearranged fixture, the host team's final outing of 2017/18. Fingers crossed there's no repeat of the freak snow that saw this fixture cancelled back in March, and that spring will stick around!!
Team news:
Due to the rearrangement of this fixture, a reshuffle sees another changed front row, the major change seeing Samara Tomlinson move forward to loose head. Otherwise the team looks quite settled and familiar, with a return to action off the bench awaiting Hayley Hodgson after a lengthy period out through injury.
Coach James Mackereths views :
I think we're in a good place going into this fixture, there's no pressure on us and all I can ask of the girls is that they all give their best, like they have every step of the way right through the season up to now. Some of these girls have had to step up and learn very quickly, and as the county programme has come round they've done exactly that. Even this deep into a long season, heads have never gone down despite some indifferent results and some proper adversity with injuries etc. I can't thank the girls enough for their efforts, I'm impressed with how they've learnt along the way, and I'm very proud of each and every one of them for the part they've played in the journey up Sunday. We've had to shuffle the deck again for the game on Sunday, but it's all exciting stuff looking forward, which is a huge part of my own job and something I'm already doing. We're not going to turn up and roll over, particularly at home, so fingers crossed we can put all the good work together and put on a show. Best of luck girls for one last effort, enjoy the day.
