The top two meet with almost identical playing records, against almost the same set of teams, so far this season (just a single points difference splits the teams after seven games), but it going to be really tough this weekend, as Kendal try to end a home record which has stood for over two years (12th October 2013 when Kirkby unexpectedly lost 10v13 to Carlisle – their only other loss in the last two season was to league Champions Wirral).
Kendal were not (allowed to be ?) at their best in the fixture over the last two seasons, so hopefully it’s third time lucky. Unfortunately the weather forecast is poor (for a third season). At least the early 2.00pm kick off should mean we miss the forecast snow !
Kirkby have a good home support, so please make an effort to get along, so there are as many Black & Amber voices as possible to will the team to victory.
TEAM
All change again. With Duncan Green joining Richard Harryman and Dom Musetti, on the injury list, Glenn Chesher makes a first appearance since the end of the 2013/14 season. Phil Murphy and Chris Downham return, whilst Jack Morphet retains his spot, so Matty Houghton moves out to the wing.
Behind the pack, James Gough is back at scrum half, with Dini Noyo back on the wing. Danny Barker returns to the centre, so Zane Butler moves to fullback, with Chris Park starting on the bench. Nathan Wooff retains the No.10 shirt, so Glenn Weightman starts on the bench, with Dan Boardley.
