The last two seasons when Altrincham Kersal have been played, they were struggling unsuccessfully against relegation. This season is different. They currently sit in fifth place above Penrith, who defeated them last weekend. They are due to play three of the top four over the final three weekends of the first half of the season, so will have an influence on the order at the top.
Only leaders Wilmslow have got a bonus point against them so far this season, and they have the best defence in the league, and have five try scoring bonus points.
A few team changes this weekend. Dini Noyo moves to scrum half, with Matty Houghton taking his spot on the wing and Jack Morphet returning to the back row.
Zane Butler returns in the centre for Danny Barker, whilst Chris Park replaces Nathan Wooff at fullback. Jack Lashley, who had to pull out at the last minute on Saturday returns to the front row.
Ben Leacock and Dan Boardley joined James Thompson on the bench.
