Wirral may appear to not be on a good run at the moment, with just two victories since they won well at Mintbridge in late November. They played Kirkby Lonsdale a week later, then against at the time league leaders Lymm in January. In that run they have lost to Birkenhead Park, Morley, Sandal and last weekend Ilkley.
This does however mask a vast difference in their home and away form. They have only lost twice at home this season (both in that recent run), to Preston Grasshoppers (with a losing bonus point) and Billingham. However, away from home they have only won once ā and we know where ! (Did it have anything to do with revenge for our unexpected victory there last year ?).
Since they played us they have only had four home games, hence the apparent āpoorā run. They do still have to visit Pocklington and Kirkby Lonsdale (although few come away from there with a victory).
A Kendal win with neither team getting a bonus point would bring us level with Wirral - but it looks to be a difficult task.
TEAM : A few changes from the Sandal team a fortnight ago, but mostly positional. Nathan Wooff and Chris Park swap places with Nathan starting. Mattie Kaye comes in at scrum half, with Dini Noyo moving to the wing. In the pack, Chris Downham comes in, with Garry Holmes moving to hooker and Robbie Collinson starting on the bench
Hopefully this season, all the shirts will travel with the team.
WEATHER : Overcast but should be dry.
Sorry no early match report this weekend (hopefully the report will be more like the Rossendale game, than the last time this happened which was at Grasshoppers).
The report should get on the website late on Saturday evening (or early Sunday morning).
