Sale Sharks Walking Rugby Fest.

On Sunday 1st Sept, the Auld Greys continued their development with a trip to Manchester for a walking rugby fest hosted by Sale Sharks at their Carrington training facility. Our squad consisted of 12 honed and drilled sporting machines plus our travelling supporters club of 2 plus a dog called Rosie.

The Auld Greys fielded some previously uncapped Wednesday participants plus 2 debutantes to the walking game in the shape of Danny Airey and Phil Smithson from Clitheroe.

The event took the shape of mixing everyone into different teams in a round robin tournament with no particular winners or losers, but the green bibs didn’t appear to lose a match!

The walking game is all about fun, learning new skills, getting fit and playing as a team all of which was demonstrated in abundance on Sunday afternoon. The day also allowed for some networking which has meant we have some more travelling down the M6 plus we are working on getting a Sale Sharks backed event in Kendal. We may even get a chance to show case at a Sale match, but that has to be worked on. Watch this space.

Well done to one and all plus our band of travelling supporters for making the day fun.

And thank you to Sale Sharks for their effort and enthusiasm in hosting us all.

They Can, Can You?
