Sincere condolences to the families of Barry Turner and Jim Graham

Jim Graham, our Club Captain in the season 1960 - 61, has died at the age of 88. Jim was a big powerful forward, who played at prop, but who could also play 2nd row. He was a fearsome opponent but a gentle giant off the field. He represented Cumberland and Westmorland many times and was well known in the game in the North.
A good athlete, he was also a strong swimmer. He had the honour of captaining the Cumberland and Westmorland water polo team. That team of 7 at that time also contained 3 other Kendal 1st XV players - John Nicholson, Tom Bolton and Harry Hall.
Our thoughts at this time are with his wife of 54 years, Eileen.
RIP Jim.

During the Winter we also lost another former Captain Barry Turner.
Barry was captain during the 1959 - 60 season. He latterly lived at Grange, with his wife Margaret. He was a talented back who could play centre, or fullback.
He was brother to another former captain, Malcolm.
RIP Barry.

Chris Hayton, Director of Rugby
