The U13s took to the 1st team pitch against Keswick for their first outing of the season. Clearly inspired by watching the Rugby World Cup in the club beforehand, they came out with an intensity and determination to put on a good performance for those watching from the stand and balcony.
The boys dominated the opening period scoring a number of well worked tries. Any time that Keswick put the team under pressure, they responded - ensuring the gain line wasn't broken. The forwards also enjoyed their first experience of competitive scrummaging!
The second period saw a large number of changes to our personnel, which Keswick didn't have the luxury of. When they had a player carried off with an injury, one of our players volunteered to pull on a Keswick top and played out the match for them. This second half had no drop in performance as the team continued to dominate and scored through a few good line breaks and resolute defending.
