What a great day was had by all at Vale Annual Tournament, including the Candy Floss!

On Sunday 13th April, the under 7s gathered at Powder House Lane, the home of Vale of Lune rugby, for the minis tournament.
The guys met and assisted Sarah in putting up the tent, which was to be their base for the day, some dads claimed that they were once scouts, though you wouldn't of thought so!!
2 teams were made up, the Blacks and the Ambers.
The Black team included, Max, Johnny, Emma, Toby, Calum, and Ben.
The Ambers were, Sam, Louis, Joseph, Reece, and Frank.
The Amber team were in a pool including Lymm, Vale, and Warrington, the blacks were pooled with Vale, Penrith, and Waterloo.
Unfortunately for the Ambers they lost Joseph to an ear tear, so Ben swapped over and the sides were kept at 5 players each.
After 3 really competitive games in the pools, the Ambers had 1 win and 2 losses, the Blacks had 1 win and 2 draws.
Both sides showing some fantastic running, great support play, excellent passing, and good space awareness, which for the coaches was great to see.
For the Ambers the tournament was over, they finished 3rd in their group, the Blacks had progressed to the plate semi final, in which they would meet Preston Grasshoppers.
In an end to end semi final, which included some brilliant play from both sides, Hoppers edged the tie 8-7.
After consoling the guys long enough for Adrian to go and get the candy floss, the coaches, Ian, Warren and Adrian expressed how proud they were of all the guys.
The coaches, and parents of all the guys involved can be very proud, the guys were a credit to themselves and a credit to Kendal rugby club.
Tournament highlights, Sarahs amazing marshmallow cake, strong, elusive running from Louis, Calum, Emma, Johnny, great space and game awareness from Reece, Toby and Frank, and some excellent defensive plays from Ben, Sam, and Max.
Well done to all, and roll on next year!!
