U10's Inspire the First's to Victory !!!!!

A thank you to the Club and the Senior Teams for inviting the U10’s for a special training session ahead of their game against Altringham Kerasl & Millom respectively.

We had 20 players taking part and we quickly broke down into smaller groups to take part in exercises that were created to improve the players agility, thought process and decision making skills. We used the newly purchased tackle sausages & slalom poles and cones to vary the size & shape of the training area.

From then we used the tackling sausages in a more traditional way, as the 3 separate groups battled it out to see who could get the tackle sausage the furthest over the gain line. One of the sausages ‘wore’ a pink tutu as a visual guide for the players to be aiming for.

We rounded off with an escalating game of Bulldogs, where the players got to put into practice, some of the things that we had just been working on. A special mention needs to go to White Shadow, who ’won’ the prestigious right to wear the Pink Tutu in Bulldogs, for the ‘offence’ of dropping the ball twice in training, with the try line beckoning. Well done White Shadow, the Tutu seemed to suit you.

Regardless of the players ages, we are all Kendal Hornets and the fact that so many people took the time to talk to the U10 players (& coaches) afterwards was really heartwarming. All 20 players had a great session on AND off the pitch and to see so many younger members of the club watching the Seniors games, wearing their Kendal Hornets kit tells its own story.
