We had some very tough opposition at Sedbergh festival on Sunday but we clearly improved over the course of the day.

Wilmslow, Rochdale, Vale and Stockport were drawn in our group. Wilmslow, Rochdale and Stockport were all well organised and very well-drilled. In the first games against Wilmslow and Rochdale we quickly learnt just how efficient those teams were in the breakdown. We were overrun as they managed to recycle and turn over the ball at speed. Having had little training time to perfect our rucking, we were taken by surprise. However, by the time we played Vale we had learnt from the other teams and our players regained their confidence. It was a pleasure to see just how they managed to improve their game during the course of the day. We won the game against Vale, scoring several well-worked tries. The final game against Stockport was arguably the toughest but we held our own and played some great rugby.
The newer players: Jonny Lee, Eddie and Hector should be particularly proud of their performance, all putting in great tackles.
The festival showed us what we need to work on. We have lots of talented players and when we've mastered rucking and mauling we'll be unstoppable!
