A learning morning at Fylde

We had an enoyable morning with our friends from Fylde.
Both clubs enjoy good numbers at this agegroup, so we were able to divide into 4 equal ability teams and have 2 games running at the same time.

Whilst the ability of both sets of teams might have been similar, the attitude and aptitude was quite different and whilst Fylde were switched on from the word go, Kendal were most definitely working on half power (there's a recurring theme to these match reports).

On both pitches, Fylde took early leads and even though Kendal (eventually) kicked into a higher gear, the try score in Fyldes favour was never going to be in doubt.

If we'd have started as we finished, it would have been a closer fixture - as one Fylde parent said to me "your boys are unrecognisable from when we played you in October, they've really come on, haven't they"! ?

We brought the regular fixtures to a premature finish, as one of the Fylde players twisted his knee and needed a few minutes attention before leaving the pitch. Hopefully a period of rest and recuperation will fettle things.

We wrapped things up with a BaaBaas game where we mixed the players together. Lots of smiles, laughs, showboating, TMO video replay and general good time by all.
They would still have been playing now if we'd have let them carry on.
