A Step To Far for the U17,s as they went down 19 -8 against Yorkshire side Moortown.
It could have been a different story if Kendal had started the game instead they conspired to their own downfall by conceeding two try's in the first 7 mins leaving them 12 - 0 down and a hill to climb. Midway through the half after a lot of pressure Innes Calquohn broke free from the back of the scrum just inside the moortown 22 and powered his way over for an unconverted try. 12 - 5 not long after kendal were awarded a penalty which brad askam converted 12 -8. Kendal turned around playing into the club with the wind in their faces keeping moortown in there own half and soaking up all the pressure, to be fair moortown defended with great spirit and kendal were unable to get the ball down over the line and were held up several times. with energy levels fading due to all the effort. moortown winger got the ball inside his own 22 and ran the full length of the pitch for a converted try ending the match 19-8 to moortown. desisions need to be made on the pitch and leaders need to be born, a lesson learnt unlucky lads and good luck against Tarleton in the league cup on sunday 16th.
