Colts back to wining ways : Full time - Crewe and Nantwich 28 Kendal 40.

Today Kendal Colts travelled to Crewe and Nantwich and an opportunity to get back to winning ways after last weeks disappointing lose to Bolton.
Kendal made the trip without Matt Paxton and Owen Singleton, Nathan Wilson pulled up through injury during the warm up, changes had to be made to the Kendal pack which saw Jacob Dixon playing at hooker and Cory Livesey donning the No7 jersey.
Kendal kicked off and took the game straight to Crewe and Nantwich with some great rucking and forward play. A crunching tackle by Frazer Fletcher saw Crewe knock on, from the resulting scrum James Seaton collected the ball and went over for Kendal’s 1st try Crewe 0 Kendal 5.
An unforced knock on gave Crewe a tap and go penalty resulting in them getting there 1st converted try Crewe 7 Kendal 5.
From the resulting kick off Kendal went up a gear with some great passages of play and ball recycling resulting with winger Will Forshaw receiving the ball and he went on a flying run through the Crewe defence like a knife through butter resulting in Joe Wilson going over for Kendal’s 2nd try converted by Sam Coleman, Crewe 7 Kendal 12.
Further positive momentum saw Kendal awarded a penalty but with confidence high their went for the line out which resulted in a great forward drive and James Seaton going over for his 2nd and Kendal’s 3rd try converted by Sam Coleman Crewe 7 Kendal 19.
More great rugby followed by the forwards and with fast hands in the backs saw the ball end up in the hands of Will Forshaw who this time used his pace to cross the line for his 1st try converted by Sam Coleman Crewe 7 Kendal 26.
None of the supporters wanted this half to end, again Kendal won a scrum and recycled the ball well for the charging rhino Bradley Butterworth to cross the line for another Sam Coleman converted try Crewe 7 Kendal 33.
More pressure by Kendal saw our fly half Will Coxon get in on the scoring act by crossing the line just before half time for another converted try Crewe 7 Kendal 40.
Half Time Crewe and Nantwich 7 Kendal 40.
The 2nd half saw both teams playing good rugby but with Kendal’s stamina slipping a little it was Crewe who got the next converted try Crewe 14 Kendal 40.
Crewe’s confidence was on the up and with some silly penalties it was again Crewe who got the next converted try Crewe 21 Kendal 40.
With only a couple of minutes to go Crewe again crossed the line for a converted try Crewe 28 Kendal 40, what a game this was turning out to be but it was Kendal’s day and another win on the road.
Full time Crewe and Nantwich 28 Kendal 40.
A great performance by all the team today and thank you for showing us the rugby you can play, and with the great support that travelled it felt like a home game.
Next fixture 24th February home game against Glossop.
All welcome to come and cheer the team on.
