Laws
• Usual laws for U16/17 rugby apply – these can be adapted to accommodate players using ‘Game On’ style principles.
• Games will be 15 a side if all teams are able to do so, if this changes we move to;
o 12 a Side – 6 forwards & 6 backs
o 10 a side – 5 forwards & 5 backs
o 9 a Side – 5 forwards & 4 backs
o 7 a Side – 3 forwards & 4 backs
• Games will be 18 minutes one way, no half time break. (This will speed up the games and maximise the ‘on-field’ time for the players)
• ‘Half Game Rule’ is in effect as ever so please ensure all players are managed to get at least 50% of the playing time available.
Notes
• Changing rooms will be open for you on the evening at the club.
• Appropriate warm up must be conducted outside the AGP before going through the decontamination area. Boots MUST be cleaned before you enter the main pitch area.
• Boots/studs allowed on the surface are shown in an additional document, please refer to this.
• This festival is aimed at U16/17 players for this season but appreciate some players who may be U18’s and on the fringes of their Colts team may also be included. Permission from Cumbria RU to ‘Combine Teams’ must have been sought for this via Amanda Evans – cumbriarugby@outlook.com
• This is a development festival for clubs to work together and develop their players via a competitive playing opportunity. Please work with each other to ensure we hit these objectives in a very important transition season for many of these players.
• If any additional players turn up on the evening to participate, please integrate them into your squad so that they get game time.
• PLEASE BE READY TO START THE GAMES ON YOUR ALLOCATED TIME SLOT ON THE EVENING.
