Kendal Dev 56 Creighton 5

Creighton were visitors for a revitalised Development XV.
A new face in the pack was Jake Broomhead and returning faces were Leo Mercer and James Cox, plus Johnno. As well as team rotation, this led to a slightly different look to the side.. But none the less, there was a more confident look to Kendal, especially after the results of the past weeks.
Kick off saw Creighton on attack , but well organised and spirited defence kept them at bay, although a couple of penalties threatened to crack Kendal, they held out.
The inclusion of Leo Mercer was always going to test any opposition, as Leo had done for the 1st XV, especially with the rest of the team looking to launch him.
Amongst the highlights was a try by Rob Wightman getting a lovely blind pass from Matty Kaye to drive over the line from 25 metres, almost untouched. There was also a well deserved try from Tom Whitehead whose play in recent weeks has earned him that, as well as showing how important to the side.. There was also a well deserved try for the eye catching Pashley at full back. He is not only a great runner, but has immaculate defence. He has done his hamstring, but we all hope for a quick recovery.
Jack Lashley was outstanding, Dave Blenkhorn shows how he is functional in the scrums , at hooker, and in the backs when players were injured.
Josh Broomhead had an excellent debut, scrummaged well and was powerful in the loose, with great hands.
Collinson, and Moulton showed technical skills, Rob Wightman and Atkinson showed great work in the engine room, as well as in defence. Chris Evans has excelled all season, was dynamic and action packed.
James Cox had an ability to cover the paddock. He does a lot of work covering the paddock, and is becoming a Kendal war horse at a young age.
Greenwood is equally at home in the backs, with hands to match and an excellent brain.
Matty Kaye has returned from the 1st XV more polished with great distribution skills and a new maturity.
Nathan Wooff has improved his confidence also. his all round menace and skills combiined for a nice try.
Alex Wilson grows with every game, and Johnno showed class and pace, gaining at least one try.
A special not of thanks to Godfather John Uttley, who turns up at every game
