Back in action after a week off, and at Mint Bridge for only the second time this season.
Looking to get back on winning ways, after the narrow loss at Waterloo, but we probably had more chances than we had at Altrincham Kersal, whilst Penrith probably were a stronger team, so it could have been two from five - it is going to be a tight league with small margins deciding who comes out on top each week.
The visitors show that, with a record of played four lost four, but two were against Stockport in top spot and Penrith in third, and in their other two games they came away with losing bonus points, and also picked a try scoring bonus point up against Vale of Lune, so should not be taken lightly. They may even have a former Kendal player in their team as Rory Blakney-Edwards has been in their team at fullback.
TEAM : Tom Moulton starts in place of Hugh Davies in the front row, Ross McKay joins the back row in place of Steven Nelson, whilst Dane Blenkharn keeps his place in the continued absence of Matt Houghton. Behind the pack, no Danny Barker, with Mark Carruthers coming into the centre. Dan Shorrock keeps his place on the left wing. Chris Evans and Alistair Thompson join Dan Lowther on the bench.
WEATHER : Grey and gloomy - but for once may be dry
MORE FORMER PLAYERS :
Whilst doing some research for this week's programme, one of the places I was directed to was Wharfdale's website. Whilst there I spotted two ex-players in their team last week against Fylde. Jack Blakney Edwards at outside half was partnered at scrum half by Lewis Kincart, making his fourth appearance of the season, although he went off early in the second half. Another former Kendal player, Ben Leacock was not playing but has played three games for them this season. I thought I had heard he had had to retire due to injury, so positve news, and he has even done something he did only once at Kendal, and has scored a try this season.
