A new year comes with new challenges and the first challenge for the Auld Greys will be the festival with the Uncoachables from Midlothian on Feb 8th.

As with all top teams, there are build up fixtures and high altitude training camps (ours is part way up the A6) and the AGs are no different.

The first session of 2020 saw 36 athletes put through their skills and drills by the coaching team of Irene Wharton and Jon Race followed by the customary round robins and a final 18 a side game.

At half time this Saturday during the 1st XV Driffield fixture, these athletes will be demonstrating their match readiness in a warm up demo game which should show the pace and handling skills the AGs are noted for.

A potential further International is in the early stages of development, so watch this space.
