We are delighted to announce that Dan Stephens has agreed to take over as Director of Rugby from Steve Healey who supported the club on an interim arrangement. Thank you, Steve, for your valuable contribution and time.

Dan is a well-known former player who started playing rugby for Kendal at the age of 16. Dan made his 1XV debut in the 95/96 season and went on to make 215 appearances for the club between 1995 - 2010 scoring 765 points. Dan started coaching back in 2010 when mini and youth rugby was first introduced at the club and continued to coach the same team until 2023 when those once mini and youth players transitioned into senior rugby. In the 23/24 season Dan took up a coaching role with the senior men’s section.

Dan’s wife Claire is an active volunteer within the club, their son Aaron currently plays 1XV and daughter Maya also volunteers and regularly attends matches.

Dan is Black and Amber through and through, with his extensive leadership and management skills we are excited by his acceptance of the role.

We are incredibly grateful to both Dan and Steve for their contribution to the Club’s organisation, work that is hugely important but often unseen.
