Cumbria County Council backing the U10 Hornets

I'm delighted to confirm that Cumbria County Council, via their Community Grant, have awarded the U10 Hornets a £500 grant towards the (considerable) cost of the forthcoming trip to Twickenham to watch the England Vs Barbarians game of Sunday 1st June.

The BaaBaas game is a unique opportunity to take such a large group to Twickenham and we wanted as many player as possible to have the opportunity to watch International rugby at Headquarters and to make the trip as affordable as possible.

Cumbria County Council has recognised the work that we are doing at Kendal Hornets and in particular our fully inclusive policy, that ensures that any young person from the area who would like to take part in rugby, gets the opportunity to do so.

It doesn't get any better than an England game at Twickenham and we will have 65 people from the U10's and Minis being inspired by elite International athletes, displaying the Core values of Rugby - Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, & Sportsmanship.

At the end of a long season, when Kendal Hornets, The new Mini & Junior section (& the U10's !) have achieved so much, its a fitting finale to the hard work that has been put in by so many people - & this £500 Community Grant from Cumbria County Council's fund is a tribute to everyone at Kendal Hornets.
