Kendal U13s travelled to Kirkby Lonsdale at the weekend and having had some good recent results they knew they were in for a much harder game against opponents that they have always struggled with and mentally Kendal didn’t appear to believe in themselves as they conceded several early tries.
Gradually though Kendal came into the game and made things much more difficult for Kirkby and became much more committed in defence. The very pleasing aspect of the game was to see the Kendal players rally around each other, learn from their mistakes and improve sufficiently to draw the second half. Being able to learn and adapt during a game is a very good trait for a team to have and definitely something the U13s should be very proud of. This should now give them the confidence to finish the season strongly and look forward to more contests against their local rivals.
