U14's - Kendal V Preston (H)

A crisp morning down at mint bridge saw the u14's overturn a deficit of three try's to claim a well deserved fought back victory. The opening exchanges were one way traffic from a well organised hoppers back line, with excellent hands and crossfield kicks saw them score three try's in quick succession. The Kendal forwards struggled to get going but they soon had a head wobble and gave the backs a platform to show some silky moves and it was an offer they didn't refuse and put some great phases of play together scoring try's from all over the pitch. This led Kendal to go into the sheds 19-12 at half time.
Kendal came flying out of the blocks in the second half scoring try's from open play. We saw the forwards move the ball in pods and consistently getting over the gain line to create space for the backs, to work there magic and punish gaps through quick ball out of the ruck and score try's from all areas of the pitch. Pleasing viewing for the coaching team especially Oli as one of the try's saw a backs move from a scrum outside the 22 turn into a well worked try a highlight of his and the coaching teams day I'm sure. Kendal continued to work as a unit with the forwards refusing to turn the ball over and even more so not conceding any penalties in a disciplined second stanza. A very pleasing comeback and a fantastic team performance saw Kendal come out 40-31 winners.

A special mention must go to Ben G, Ollie, Thomas, Edward N and Henry who either in part or in full played the game in unnatural positions and put in a fantastic performance. Also a mention to the boot of Edward N and Ollie with a excellent high conversion rate throughout the game.
Both sets of teams admirably observed a 2 minute silence before the game to mark remembrance Sunday.

The U14's next game will see them travel down the M6 on the 3/12 to take on Garstang
