A well deserved win as the U14s returned to winning ways.

An overcast morning down at mint bridge saw the U14s return to winning ways. This season has been a rollercoaster for the U14s and the win against Garstang was the game that proved to the team that hard work through tough times really pays off.

Weekends opponents Garstang came along with a mixed squad of 14s/15s and Kendal really stood up to the challenge. Kendal scored 3 in 7 minutes early on with Leon, Zak and Ben G. All trys coming from the forwards with them showing the backs how to run some killer lines, these were well deserved trys from the pack as they did not stop working for the opening minutes. Not once turning the ball over and this continued throughout the game.

The backs finally got there trys through some quick hands and some really good structure to send Edward N in for two trys in his fullback roles for the day. These trys were something we’ve all become accustomed to with edward, using his footwork and wheels to grab two great trys.

Kendal went into the sheds 31-0 up

The second half began as a good contest with Garstang having a lot of ball, but the Kendal defensive line held firm and forced mistakes from the Garstang attack through some impressive line speed. Kendal got back to scoring ways with Louie who snuck into the corner to grab a well earned try. This try was one to saver for the day with the forwards working hard as a unit consistently laying the platform for the backs to show some silk and they did this with this try with well worked hands which got the ball to Louie to squeeze in the corner.

Kendal finished the scoring through Edward N capping off a fine team display and also by earning himself a hat trick.

This is a performance the team should be proud of and one that really showed the effort they have been putting into training has come off.

A big thankyou to the U15s lads who stepped in to help us.

And a good luck message to the boys from the U14s from KKS who will play in the school cup final on Tuesday i know they will make the club, town and school proud whatever the outcome.
