Best performance for a while

This fixture was originally planned as a Development/training fixture, for the less experienced 12 players from each club to get some valuable game time.
However, fortune shone on us and Carlisle brough 22 players with them, which allowed us to have 2 games going on at the same time .
We stuck with the original plan and matched the experience and skill levels, so that all players would have an enjoyable mornings rugby.

The match reports from both pitches are very similar. Kendals attitude was really positive and effort levels were high. From the kick off, we had lots of 'go forward' from the forwards, which meant that the back got the ball on the front foot.

We played 4 x 10 minute games and although the players were tiring towards the end of the last fixture, it was a really strong performance from both Kendal teams and they should be really pleased with how they played. To often in the past, we've 'carried' some players who have seemed disinterested, but this definitely wasn't the case today.

As individuals and as teams, they took a huge 'step up' today.
