Good wins for home team

Following on from the excellent games last Saturday at the Newcastle Falcons festival, our U12s delivered another two energetic performances in the 3 team round robin to finish the day unbeaten.

After watching an impressive Penrith defeat Southport convincingly, our boys then took to the field against the Southport team. They took full advantage of the tiring touring team, moving the ball well into space and scored a handful of tries without being put under much defensive pressure. Unfortunately during this game Evan was carried off following an bad injury to his leg when he got it trapped in a ruck, though he dealt with it well and calmly sat and watched from the sidelines, however it was later confirmed to be a broken tibia. Speedy recovery Evan!

Next up was Penrith, and the boys put together the gameplay given by their coaches to nullify the quick offloading of Penrith. Lots of hard work during the game, closing down the opposition and clearing rucks allowed the backs freedom to break the defensive lines and score a number of tries in another win and a second clean sheet of the day.

After some hard defeats in the new year, the U12s have picked themselves up and are really starting to bond as a team, working hard together with their coaches, gaining belief in their judgement, positioning and collective skills. They are truly building some momentum going into the important part of the season with fixtures every week. Roll on Fylde next Sunday!
