Under 12 Squad Hosts Kirkby Lonsdale at Mint Bridge in return fixture

After a fiercely contested first game on the 11th May away at Underley Park in Kirkby Lonsdale, it was Kendal’s opportunity to host the return match v Kirkby Lonsdale on Friday 21st May at Mint Bridge.

It was with great anticipation that Kendal Hornets U12 squad hosted this return fixture and a crowd of parents, coaches and supporters were not disappointed with the effort shown in the ensuing matches!

Kirkby Lonsdale arrived with their large squad ready and prepped for a round-robin ‘mini tournament’ comprising 3 x 15 minute games.

Kendal excelled in the first leg, with plenty of tries from Tyler, Tristan and Caleb to name but a few.
Kirkby Lonsdale soon re-grouped and after some words of wisdom from coach Gareth Gore and able to offer a second squad with fresh legs, the tables turned in their favour in the second leg.

The final leg was very competitive and evenly matched. Kendal upped their game, excelling in their rucking technique, after some coaching from Billy Coxon earlier in the week, with both teams putting their bodies on the line with some good, clean tackles.

To complete the successful evening, the large Kirkby Lonsdale squad also combined with 4 Kendal players, to play a further friendly, ensuring that every player who turned up got as much game time as possible
