Not quite a bottom of the table clash, as Burnage who we beat three weeks ago, who then got their opening win of the season at home to Kirkby a week later, sit between us, but two teams with just one win from a combined ten League games, who will desperately be seeking to put a “W” against their name

We have played almost identical teams, they started with Rossendale, who we do not see until the end of next month, whilst we played Wirral a fortnight ago who they see next week. We have had the better results against the same opposition, but they have home advantage.

TEAM : Rumours at the AGM on Thursday night, of serious injury and unavailability in the back division, meant if a team had not been selected I was going to speculate on Glenn Chesher and Dan Reid starting as right and left wings, with a front row of Billy Coxon; Garry Holmes and Richard Harryman - but not quite an extra outing for the Social Team .

From the team who played at Wirral, Robbie Collinson returns at hooker and Dan Reid moves back to prop. Same second row, so Barney Coxon returns after starting on the bench last weekend. Dane Blenharn and Dan Greenwood, join last week’s Man of the Match Alistair Thompson in the back row, with Joe Lashley on the bench.

As feared all change behind the pack. Ignacio Cisint is the only one to retain his place, whilst Jordan Johnson moves from the wing to scrum half. Dan Lowther comes in at outside half (it is suggested Glen was concussed last weekend so will be out for a few weeks), Dan Shorrock returns on the left wing, whilst McKenzie Cousins* comes in for hs debut on the right wing. Steven Nelson moves from No.8 to inside centre, with Nick Carlton outside him.
