Quite a daunting prospect this weekend, travelling to unbeaten League leaders Stockport, with 10 wins from their 10 games, 8 with try scoring bonus points, and no team has got a try scoring bonus point against them.

Only two have come away losing bonus points, Altrincham Kersal (inevitably) at Stockport (6 points gap) and Waterloo away (3 points gap). The two teams which deprived them of maximum points were again Waterloo away (the same place where our winning run was dented) and Glossop (the team who are due to visit Mint Bridge next weekend) at home. With only bottom Douglas, and 8th place Vale of Lune to play before the mid-point of the season, a clean sweep looks likely – unless we can do something about it.

Our fourth place is of course partly due to the two postponements, and we still lie only 2 points off second place, with just that one loss away at Waterloo, a game we could have won, just as we could have lost a number where we eventually came out on top.

Both Waterloo (away at Penrith) and Glossop (away at Manchester) having tough games this weekend, so if we could get something out of the game we may move up. It looks an incredibly tough challenge, but that tends to be when the team are at their best.

TEAM : We have a team !

The good news is Greg is in, the bad news is Ben is not, but an ideal replacement in Danny

Chris Evans takes Danny's place on the bench but otherwise the same team who played last week.

NB The MoM vote may be slightly later than normal as I will be setting it up after the game

WEATHER : Despite some worrying forecasts of Wintery conditions, it seems the main issue could be a strong wind. Plenty of rain forecast in the 24 hours before the game, but hopefully dry for kick off

MINT BRIDGE : As mentioned elsewhere the Seconds also travel to Stockport, so no Saturday game at Mint Bridge.

The Senior Colts were due to be at Home on Sunday – but an opposition is yet to be listed, so a match is unlikely.
