A local(ish) Derby against fifth placed Penrith, who gave us a fright earlier in the season, coming back from 10v31 down early in the second half, to pushing for a draw at 27v34 at the final whistle, but had to settle for a double bonus point, in what is so far their only loss at on the 3G pitch at Winters Park.
Their away form is a bit different with just two wins from six – but one was a Vale, so they may do better on short journeys, and will be keen to push for one of the spots at the top of the table. The other win was (inevitable) a narrow one at Altrincham Kersal.
As we saw at Penrith, they play entertaining rugby, with ten try scoring bonus points from their fourteen games. No one has left Mint Bridge with one so far this season, with only Manchester, with a losing bonus point, not leaving empty handed.
One of the best teams we have played so far this season, so a hopefully a good contest.
TEAM : As last week (so still no Greg but Dan is a useful replacement).
Three new names on the bench, and one is an old name returning with Ben Leacock, after several weeks watching on the sidelines, being named (certainly not short of second rows this season), joined by Dane Blenkharn and Nick Carlton
VISITORS : Link to Penrith team
I think there are eight changes plus a few more positional from the team named for the first game - but does that make them even better, as they had a few unavailable that day.
WEATHER : Looking OK again – sunny spells followed by overcast but only 10% chance of rain
SUNDAY : The Junior Colts are in action at Mint Bridge, playing Keswick Junior Colts in a Cumbria Cup match Kick off 1.00pm.
