Kendal got off to the worst possible of starts in their tough cup tie away at Silloth when unfortunately they had to start the game with fourteen players due to a car being delayed travelling to the match.
Silloth took full advantage scoring two converted tries in the opening four minutes of the game.
Ten minutes into the game & Kendal were up to their full complement of players. With the scrum & especially the lineout working really well Kendal established a platform & through a brilliant piece of individual play from flanker Josh Chaplow he powered through the home defence after collecting turnover ball & breaking several tackles he scored from 40 metres out. Shaun Garnett was successful with the conversion & added a penalty late in the half to pull the score back to 14-10 at halftime.
Silloth's 1st team experience told in the second half as they ran in two quick tries & added two tries late in the half for a final score of 38-10.
Despite the score line Kendal can take a lot of positives out of the game & have a solid performance on which they can build when their league programme starts on 14th September at home to Millom.
