For the first time this season Kendal started the game very strongly to score first & sting the league leaders into action.
From the kick-off the Kendal pack put the home side under real pressure in their own twenty-two & after several minutes Kendal broke through the defensive resistance for flanker Josh Chaplow - who was handful all afternoon - to be awarded the try.
Unfortunately after that the pace & skill of the Egremont backs came to the fore & they ran wild scoring 7 tries in total. 4 were scored by fullback Lewis Boyd - returning to rugby after a 3 year absence & a name Kendal supporters will remember with fondness as he scored 31 tries for the 1st XV in the 2008/2009 season - he has lost none of his amazing pace!
Kendal it must be noted stuck to their task throughout the game & if they hadn't it would have been a real cricket score.
