In a typically tight derby game the visitors opened the scoring midway through the first half in controversial circumstances - with their forwards bashing away close to the Kendal try line their second row forward looked to have been tackled before making a double movement for the line however the referee awarded the try for what turned out to be the only score of the half.
Windermere a penalty to extend their lead in the second half before Kendal really got into the game to score a well worked try.
The forwards won excellent lineout ball that was moved to Garnett at standoff whose neat step wrong footed the defence for centre Leo Mercer to take full advantage & race in for a converted try to bring the home side within a point.
Windermere added a second penalty soon afterwards & withstood the Kendal onslaught in their twenty-two until the final whistle.
