Showing a great attitude & determination Kendal backed it up with by far their best performance of the season so far.
They deservedly took the lead through two well struck penalties during the opening twelve minutes.
Cockermouth 1st's came back in the latter part of the half to score two unconverted tries & take the lead.
A third penalty on the stroke of half time pulled Kendal back within a point.
The second half was a really tight closely fought affair with neither side able to breakthrough what were two well organised defences.
However Kendal gained a distinct advantage through their powerful scrummage & earned themselves a penalty which was again successfully kicked.
But with Cockermouth striving for the victory they forced an error from Kendal which earned them a penalty & with the final kick of the game the ball sailed between the uprights to give Cockermouth a 13-12 win.
